McCain did an interview with Katie Couric for CBS Nightly News instead of doing a scheduled interview with David Letterman. He then went to Washington to work (he still is a senior member of the Senate). Obama also went to Washington after saying he'd go "if they needed him". I guess McCain felt in this time of crisis it was more important to speak with a leading news organization about the crisis instead of speaking with David Letterman. I listened to the interview with Mrs. Couric and I missed the "chit-chatting" that you mentioned. It seemed to me Mrs. Couric, who for an "unbiased" member of the media, asked some tough questions of McCain about the current situation. I wonder if there would have been more or less "chit-chatting" had McCain done the Letterman show instead of the CBS Evening News? As for liberal being a bad thing... If liberal means... - bigger government (aka higher taxes) - more regulation - universal healthcare - welfare - pro choice (a woman has the choice to kill an unborn baby) - subjective truths (there are no absolute truths in the world) - socialism (unequal distribution of wealth is not ethical) Then yes.
